2D Contour and 2D Pocket will automatically machine circular pockets using a continuous spiral. This works fine in most cases and avoids the linking transitions which are otherwise required when cutting using stepover passes.
However, there can be specific cases where the spiral behavior is undesired and can causes extra linking when cutting in multiple depths since the spirals would be oriented the same way and would require reposition from the end of the previous spiral to the start of following spiral cut.
We have added a "hidden" setting in HSMWorks 2017 to allow you to avoid the spirals and just cut the pockets using the normal stepover passes. You can see the setting called "Use Spiral for Circular" in the Compare and Edit dialog. If you prefer to never use spiral cutting you can set the default from the Compare and Edit dialog.
I would really love this for outside cutting as well.
Especially good for finishing.

Ah makes sense. But requires somewhat different approach to support this. Inside pockets like we support are easier.

Understood.
But is you could put outside somewhere on the list as well that would be great.

Add another vote for @Laurens-3DTechDraw 's suggestion.
Would be great if I could enter a distance from a contur and a nummber of steps or a width that would work without linking steps but with spiral path.
Different approach, mybe, but would be great even for the simple things like circles.
Cant you do something like this with 3d spiral? Its not the same but maybe something for now.
