Upgrading my hardware

Hi! ^_^
I am upgrading my hardware in order to get the best results from Autodesk software and I have a few technical questions.

Firstly regarding the processor, do the programs 3ds Max and Maya use more then two processor cores? If so, would dual processors be a good option? Can these programs even make use of dual processors?

What processor attributes should I prioritize inorder for these programs to run smoothly? Speed, memory or the amount of cores, which is most imortant for these programs?
Would this be a good processor for a student: Intel® Xeon® E5-2643 (four core, 3,3 GHz, 10 MB cache, max 1 066 MHz memory)?

Or would it be better to go with: Intel® Xeon® E5-2630 (six core, 2,3 GHz, 15 MB cache, max 1 333 MHz memory)

My second question is regarding their use of graphic card, Can they make use of dual craphic cards? If so, which would be the better option: two 4 GB AMD FirePro W7000 or two 2 GB NVIDIA Quadro 4000 graphics cards?

Thank you in advance!
