hello!

i use

maya 2026.2

arnold MtoA 5.5.1

i wondering something.

when entity finish the goto behavior then do a next goto behavior, i don't want them temporary stop.

set up like this

chlrh1226_0-1761818898128.png

entity reach first target and move to second target....keep move...

but when entity reach the each target, they stop temporarily and then move to next target.(attached)

same as target mesh. in this situation, i can't use curve target.

is it possible to make a entity none stopping when they go to next target?

i tried editing target reach threshold.
but it's just different distance stopping.

Hi @chlrh1226,

The Follow Curve target mode would be a perfect candidate to avoid temporary stops. Can you explain why you cannot use it in your case?

Hello!

Thank you for your advice.

Actually, that was just simple scene for my work!

i tried to make a walking & running rat on the animating monster.
so if i use curve target, i need a lot of curve that following the monster animation.
also rat movement is so uniform.

that's why i try to use target poptool or mesh.

but i gonna try that! Thanks!

if you have a other idea! please let me know!
Thank you so much!

Hi @chlrh1226,

Thank you for the details. If it's to complicated to use the follow curve mode, there is another way by stopping the Goto with a polygon zone trigger but the setup is more complicated and maybe a random trigger is also needed to avoid switching to the next target as soon as the entity enters inside the polygon (in your case you can use a cube and enable the 3d mode on the polygon zone trigger):

Let us know if this could work for you.
