I need to add more details to my crowds! Would love to run cloth simulations and maybe add some hair, is that possible ?

Sure! Golaem ships with a cloth simulation engine which can interact with the simulation

Some tutorials can be found here about how to set those up - from flag setup to actual cloth on characters

Cloth in Golaem Part I-III

Basic Setup : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfO06Bq9kmk

Defining properties : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d36XlIKOnOM

Advanced Setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x3v4o2rj0M

Regarding fur, GOlaem can ingest Xgen setups directly from Maya or any Alembic file exported from Houdini / Yeti

The fur can then be attached to some skinned geometry (and deformed accordingly)

For animation, it can be skinned to bone chains along the curves
