character controller doesn't follow the translate terrain by scale

hello,

 

i set up the character controller to entity on the keying scale animation terrain
like bellow attached .gif file.

 

 

character controller doesn't follow exactly the translate terrain by scale.

how can i set up the character controller exactly on the entity on the moving terrain?

Hey there,

Can you please specify which Golaem and Maya version you're using ?

Also some context: what are you using the CC for ? Is your sphere attached to a Crowd Rigid Body ? Does it scale properly ?

i use golaem version 9.0.2 and maya version 2024.


and i want to crawl up  each entity ( with character controller) on the moveing terrain( scale keying or deformed mesh)
but when i did a simple test(attached  gif flle), CC not follow exactly...

I can not see any Rigid Body in your config:

oh, sorry about that. i miss it.

i try with rigid body on sphere, still CC not follow that.

fix physics locator setting value. like that.
but still not follow the entity...

is this normal thing?

Can you show what to does with the Crowd Rigid Body ?

I don't think crowd rigid bodies can change shape during a simulation

Do you think You can approximate your geometry with boxes and keyframe their transforms ?

first, i try to set up the character controller to entity on the keying scale animation terrain.

but i find out rigid body not follow the sphere mesh (&terrain )
even CC is not follow the entity.

now this question is almost same upper question.


and now i got your last answer, i realize rigid body can't support scale keying animation & vertex keying animation.. right?
i thought rigid body support the scale keying animation & vertex keying animation..

because when i click the button "force refresh", it fit the mesh shape.

but you mean rigid body can't not support this both way. right?

 

rigid body only support translate & rotate keying animation. right?

vertex animation is not supported by rigid body for sure - this is a limitation of the 3rd party engine we're using

I was not sure about scale so did a quick test but indeed it's not supported neither

Position / orientation are though

Studio usually sample / fracture their geometries in smaller pieces and use multiple rigid body in the case of vertex animation / scaling
