What is the best way to provide read-only sample design files for students?
Dear Autodesk Community:
What is the best way to provide read-only sample design files for students?
I am attempting to set up a single Fusion Team for a class, following the guidelines in "Getting Started with Fusion Team for Academia". I would like to accomplish the following:
- As instructor, I provide a read-only Project of example files which students can copy or link as a starting point.
- Each student group controls their own project, with access available to instructors for review.
- I would prefer that students not see each other's projects, although that is not essential.
My candidate solution, based on the references listed below:
- Example design files are in a single Closed Project called 'Course Resources'.
- Students are invited to the team as Project Contributors.
- Students are invited as Viewers to Course Resources.
- A Closed Project is created for each student group; students are invited to their own projects as Editors.
This almost works, but what I observe is that students can only see the Course Resources project online, not within Fusion 360, and cannot download or copy any examples.
Also, even if I select Share on an individual design and make sure 'Allow viewers to download to their computer' is enabled, from the student account the 'Open in Desktop' and 'Copy' options are unavailable.
Thanks,
Garth Zeglin
