Issue working together as a team on one assembly

Hi everyone,

we are a student team designing and building a motorcycle for an international competition.

We used to work with Siemens NX and Teamcenter and are now looking for alternatives.

As we are used to it from Siemens NX, it is possible to do 'circular references' which is meant that we have a huge assembly where every part and every sub assembly is in (the whole motorcycle), referenced to the huge assembly.

We are looking for something like:

Motorcycle

--> Chassis

--> --> Frame

--> --> Swingarm

--> Accumulator

--> --> Stacks

--> --> Case

--> Wheels

--> --> Front Wheel

--> --> --> Rim

--> --> --> Tire

--> --> --> Brakedisc

--> --> --> Fanduct

Case 1:

The Fanduct is designed as the last part of the Front Wheel. To design the Fanduct it is necessary to make a reference to the Brakedisc, the Rim and the Tire, so to the entire rest of the Front Wheel Assembly. There is either the possibility to reference the parts (Brakedisc, etc) seperately or to reference the whole Front Wheel. When referencing the whole Front Wheel, at latest the Fanduct cannot be inserted into the Front Wheel assembly as there will be a circular reference. But also when referencing to the other parts seperately there would be a circular reference in the Front Wheel, as the Front Wheel assembly needs to reference to the individual parts within the assembly.

Case 2:

The Case assembly for the Accumulator must include a reference to the Frame as the Case must have the same width as the Frame in Chassis.

When the Case is designed, it must be referenced into the Frame as brackets need to be designed onto the Frame, depending on how the Accumulator Case has been designed.

Long story short: we are looking for a function in Fusion similar to the "WAVE Geometry Linker" in Siemens NX which allows to reference to other assemblies without inserting them directly. In Siemens NX you can link as many faces or bodies as you want without restrictions. In Fusion it seems that the possibilities are limited because references cannot be made in every case.

We are very happy for help!

Thanks in advance.
