How to Automatically add everyone in Fusion Tem when creating a new project

Hi! My team and i work on multiple small projects at any one time so new projects are always being created at a rate of about 1-2 a week. I have 4 people in my Fusion Team but every time i create a new project, i have to manually log into Hub and make each of them project admins if not they dont have access to the project. is there a setting or some way to automate this such that when i create a new project, it automatically adds the project admins? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for posting!

There are 3 types of projects in Fusion Team:

  • Two of the types are visible and discoverable by all team members, with Closed type acting as ‘requires project admin approval' to enter. Open type implies team members are pre-approved to join or exit the project at their discretion. Project types:
    • Open: These projects are visible and accessible only to team members. Team members can join or be invited to join an open project. The Viewer role is not available for Open projects.
    • Closed: These projects are visible to all team members yet are accessible only to project members. Team members can request to join closed projects or be invited to them. Project Contributors may be invited to the project, as well. All three project roles are available within a Closed project.
  • Non-discoverable projects:
    • Secret: These projects are visible and accessible only to project members. Project membership is by invitation only. All three project roles are available within a Secret project.

So basically if you want to allow your team members to auto-join the projects - use the Open type.

@robert.filiks   Is there a way to set the default setting for new projects to "open" for all team members?


Currently it seems each team member creates the project, then is required to open team hub in the browser, and manually change the type to "open".  If each of our engineers forgets to set this we lose a good amount of time if the user is not immediately available to make the change.

No, this seems to be Closed by default. There is no way to change this.


Projects the teams are currently accepting feedback and suggestions on to drive the future of Fusion 360 are marked as “Open” in the Fusion 360 Feedback Hub. Please read and participate in the thread [OPEN] Feedback on Fusion Team and Data Management to share input on any areas the team is actively investigating.
