Comment vs Reply

Hi,

Wondering what's the difference between "Comments" and "Reply"?  I have a solid model uploaded where my design team can interact.

I have found when I reply to someone's comment, an email comes back to me and not my contributors.  My contributors don't know I have replied until they open the solid model and check the messages on the side. (comment#6 shows a reply from JWU JWU but she is the only one which gets an email)

It is only when I create a new comment when my contributors get an email message with the comments I have written. (comment#7 in my example image.  JWU JWU creates a comment, and I receive an email regarding it)

Thanks for sending in your question to the team and we will take a look at this. When you post the comment, do you use the "@" symbol as an "@Mention" for that person? If not, please give that a try and see if they get the notifications.

shouldn't the reply button imply the @mention to the person you're replying to?

Hi Bud,

This post is mine but under a test account I have.  When I  post a comment, I don't use any "@" symbol.  Basically I thought I'd make a comment to the team, and they'll receive an email regarding my comment.

When I use the reply, I expect that person to receive my reply in email as well.  I'll test it out again as I did not have time last week.

Hi Bud,

I tried again.  Here's what happens.

1. Jason uploads a design.  He invites JWU as an editor.

2.  JWU makes a comment on a component.  Email goes to Jason.

3.  Jason replies to the comment.  No email is sent to JWU.  Email is sent to Jason but it does not have the replied message.

I tried using "@ JWU" and her name shows up as a selection, but it still doesn't email her my reply.  I'm expecting her to receive an email regarding my reply.

Thanks Jason for the update. I will look into this thread and your other thread and see what is going on and what is expected to happen here. Once I hear back, I will let you know.
