working with a 3d model from another program from a online source

I purchased a 3d model of a Porsche 550 spyder. I don't know what type of file it is.

and would like to divide it up into sections after scaling it to size so I can print 1:1 scale profiles of the model

modify scale is the only thing so far I can get to work with the drawing.

I've scaled it to size by measuring the wheelbase  knowing the Porsche wheelbase

id like to use the prints as templates to build a wood station buck to build the body with aluminum

so far I haven't invested in fusion 360 Id like to know if what I'm wanting to do will work

I own a hp 36 inch t520 Designjet

so breaking or splitting the drawing up would help to just print what I want

I've already tried to just trace around the section I want to print using section analysis but this isn't permanent

I've drawn one profile of the body so far I haven't been able to get it to print

yes I'm not very good with cad kind of a newbie

any ideas would be appreciated .....id like to be able to do this quickly

the methods I've tried so far are very time consuming

What is the 3 letter/number extension of the file name?

Can you zip and Attach it here?
