Why do components keep moving around and finish up at different angles that can't be edited.

When I manage to get close to the end of a project and try to edit a component, it is at a strange angle away from the original axis. Also why to components keep jumping around when you click on them?
It is driving me crazy and there are no tutorials that I can find that talk about the subject.
All Components other than the top level component, are free to move at any time, with intent or accident, until you prevent it. Ground and Joints in Assemblies, are a few topics to research. Move and Align are not recommended.
