why can't I have an offset of an offset?

I have a simple question (I think). Why can't I make an offset from an offset?

It's a stupid Fusion thing. When using Offset, the geometry is auto constrained as an Offset. If you select the Offset constraint symbol and delete it, you can now offset the geometry again.

I believe it's that way in order to prevent an avalanche of recalculations should a change in one early offset kick off a recalculation for each subsequent and dependent offset. By deleting that constraint, you are breaking the parametric link so the offset does not update if the original dimension changes.
