I edited a model that was inserted into another file but it will not update the changes. So I tried to edit in place and discovered there is NO move tool, WTH

If you are using the Edit in Place function, the Move is automatically eliminated.  You are leaving the assembly during this command so the Move command has no meaning.

not all commands or options are available yet in Edit in Place.  Component Move seems to be one of those that is not yet implemented.

@mickhanks As I do not have access to your design not sure if the soultion will work.

There is a way you can use the move command in edit-in-place mode, by activating the local context. Can you check if it suits your requirement?
