Where are the user defined CAM operation defaults stored?

In some cases I get a .1mm stock to leave default value which I'm sure I must have set sometime as an accidental "make all default" thing.

The funny part is that it does not show-up every time, only in some cases and I can't quite put my finger on what triggers it. I guess it might help if I look in the file where theses custom defaults are stored.

Most of these options are saved in a file called NGlobalOptions.xml, in the directory %appdata%\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\<autodeskUserId>

Alternatively, you can also right click on a toolpath and select Compare and Edit. There are filters as well as a search box. You can see what's been modified and change that behavior at that level as well.

I lose my CAM user defaults after almost every update.  I've been fighting it for over a year now, it's annoying and tiresome.  I have reported this and have an open case, but it the meantime, thought that finding the the location of any locally stored data and backing up the file(s) would be a decent workaround.

So far I've been unable to locate "NGlobalOptions.xml" as @seth.madore has stated above.  Has the filename/structure changed?

The file is still there and it does contain your saved defaults.

Another way to get all defaults, including system ones, is via Fusion 360 UI:

Thanks for the heads up @ltomuta .  Still unable to find NGlobalOptions.xml, was hoping to setup up something like synctoy to automatically keep things synced, but exporting manually is better than nothing.

Maybe the reason you are not seeing the file is because the folder mentioned is normally a Windows Hidden Folder.  You can un-hide it if you like using the File Explorer.

Thanks @jhackney1972 good suggestion, but I did already have Show Hidden turned on.  I was however able to find it by following the path from your screenshot.  It was roaming vs local that was keeping me from getting to it. Sidenote: Windows search is trash.

If you put %appdata%... in the address bar in File Explorer it takes you to the right folder. Also the Roaming part means sync is automatic over Windows for your user account. A backup may be useful, at least once the file content was reset for me and all defaults lost.
