What would cause these defects?

Just getting started with Fusion 360 and I made a hose barb fitting with a threaded end... exported to a .STL file.  I used the loft function to create some truncated cones to use as the barb and to add a wider base but these objects created a discontinuity in the print.  Looks fine in Fusion and in S3D, until I select "prepare to print".  Then the gaps appear??

Why Loft rather than Revolve (always use the most primitive geometry possible.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

I'll wager the Fusion file doesn't "look fine".

I am just a newbie coming over from TinkerCad land so I don't know what revolve does yet.  But I'll have a look.  Here is the .f3d file:

Nope, doesn't look so fine on close inspection.

Multiple unresolved errors highlighted in the Timeline in yellow.

Multiple bodies where I would expect this to be a single body.

If at any time you are tempted to use Move - STOP - and ask questions first.

LOL... Not sure how to fix that so I'll just start over.  I am used to TinkerCad where what you see is what you get.

Examine the Attached.

If you look down the center hole of your part - you will see a mess.

I was in a hurry creating this - I will try to post a cleaner example tomorrow.

Yeah, I made a couple of cylinders one with threads and one not.  But I just learned how to make partial threads so a lot of that will go away in my new version.  Also learning revolve.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Revolve is a very cool tool and easy to make a barb.  But another issue is that these revolved bodies are not additive when coincident with another body... they blank out the space they occupy.  IOW I can make a barb on the end of my tube, but not along the length of the  the tube.  Yet another mystery for the newbie.  I'll figure it out eventually.

Here is a better design.  I figured out that the default on the "revolve" was to cut not to make a new body.  Go figure.  Thanks for getting me on the right track.

You have an unresolved RED highlighted issue in your Timeline.

You have 3 bodies rather than 1 body.

Attached is a good model.
