What happens to configured designs when moving from paid to personal license?

I have searched, but I didn't find any answer to this question. If it has been answered before, I apologize.

I am currently on a paid license, and I have access to use configurations in my designs. If at some point in the future I move to a personal license instead, I no longer have access to configurations. Does that mean I would no longer be able to even open my own designs if they are configured?

Hi @mroek, personal license users can open configured design, and switch configurations to view from browser, but can't open the configurations table to do edit.

@EvanGu: Thanks for answering. Could you please clarify a bit more:

Is it possible for a personal license user to save the different configurations as separate non-configured designs, and then edit those? Since the configuration tables are essentially fixed, it would make sense to convert to non-configured versions instead.

If not, does that mean that a user going from paid to personal will be locked out from editing their own designs?

Hi @mroek, you can right click the root component of the configured design->Save Configuration As, or File->Export->Export Active Configuration, both ways can save the different configurations as separate non-configured designs, and continue your edits.

Thanks. That is an acceptable solution, given that configurations are not available to personal license users. Reason for asking is just to know what happens if I have to move over to a personal license in the future. The paid version is pretty expensive, and the price seems to have skyrocketed lately.

@mroek

We believe in the philosophy that you as the user own your data.  So whatever you have created using Configurations will still be available to you when you downgrade your subscription.  You wont be able to author new configurations or edit existing ones using the Configurations table.

But you will be able to access existing Configurations data and create independent designs from individual configurations as explained by Evan above.
