Weird issue when opening a previously saved file

I was working with a file that is a model of the FS-1 flying sub from voyage to the bottom of the sea. I have created many bodies and sketches and have 4 canvas pics to use. I have opened this file many times over the last month and a half and never had anything like this happen...tonight I worked on the model importing files from previous saves and then did some house cleaning of the bodies not needed and saved the file as an existing named file with a version change. All normal stuff. Then a few hours later I reopened the file to find the model still intact, but the individual body names were messed up (an example is a file called "LeftWing" is now the part that makes up the underside of the main body). This is troubling as nothing I did was out of the ordinary from the modelling I had done in Fusion 360 many times before and never seen the body names change from on piece to another like this.
Anyone seen something similar, or have any ideas what may have caused this....
The saves with the same name but differing version numbers were saved 2 minutes and 33 seconds apart...I don't think this has anything to do with the problem, but who knows?
Also, some of the bodies/components were imports of STL files and they stayed as Meshes when the save was done. Again not something that I hadn't done and saved like that before.
One thing that did occur prior to this was 2 of the bodies hidden (v unselected) were not able to be reselected as visible....and once I reopened the file they were the same names but were selectable and not associated with the body parts that they were before the problem. I wonder if this is a cloud issue, but none of my other files have this problem...so far.
I also am not capturing the timeline on this model.
Anyway it has me stumped as to why this happened...any suggestions are appreciated.
Attached are a few screen grabs showing the problems....very bizarre.
ThanksThis shows as "FuselageTopFront" but when selected is actually the left wing
This part is the "FuselageRearNew" but is identified as the "LeftWing"
This is identified as "FuselageTopFront" and shows up as same, but it was previously cut by the "Meshbody6" in the next picture and now is not.
