W the actual F! "Files not available at the moment"!!!

Grey warning triangle over files in the Data Panel proclaim "File is not available at the moment".

Q: where are my designs?

Q2: W the F are my designs?

There's much I can endure- but not this.

From another support post, these possibly-related-items went unremarked on:

"On reload this time, a Job Status window popped up showing 8 upload tasks of the same file" and "again on reload, after selecting a recovery file but before that file is loaded, a Fusion Job Task window appears over the workspace, this time with 13 files processing.   Presently hung after processing 2".

So, what do you think?   Related?   Remarkable?   CONCERNING?

The compact of a cloud based system is that we trade control over our work for security.   That compact seems fatally broken.

So, my first impulse, restart Fusion- which generates the message "Fusion will shut down when operations are complete" and "Uploading Files 0/11 complete".   It doesn't seem to progress.

Testing the capacity to save new files, I opened and renamed an existing file.   That file seems to have saved successfully.   Still, I have 2 designs stuck in Grey Caution Limbo.

Every time I close Fusion a Job Status list appears showing ongoing tasks- file version uploads.   If allowed to run its course, 2- no more, no less -of those uploads will complete before stalling.   So, to clear this list of backlogged saved states, I have to prompt Fusion to close, wait for the two uploads, close Fusion over its protest, reload Fusion, attempt to close, rinse-and-repeat.

When the number of remaining files reduced to 3, Fusion would only process one upload before stalling; after restarting Fusion 3 times more, both of the File Not Available caution markers were removed.

I wonder then- is there an upload quota related to Cloud Credits?   Here's a theory: we're credited with a certain number of uploads per session; due platform instability, I save my files frequently; credits expent, a backlog of uploads accumulated on my system- something only rectified after accumulating more session-number related upload credits.

That's the best my imagination can come up with.

While working, a "Fusion Team" error message spoke to an upload problem, invited to click to learn more, followed by this:Team Fusion Error.JPG

...and my present work is, again, inaccessible, pending 3 reboots of Fusion.

(FYI: this last round was spurred by another crash- CER_176850259 , #68 this week -after *gasp!* -selecting a spline handle.   Radical, I know.)

Hi @mavigogun,

I'm curious why these uploads are stuck and pending. Can you please share your diagnostic log files so that I can dig deeper into what is happening.

Thanks,

Hi @mavigogun,

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to dig deeper into these today. I am curious though - upon restarting Fusion, do you see the same uploading pending/upload error message? Can you post another screenshot. Your older logs point to this error, but the new ones show a blank upload queue which is strange. If you still see this error about pending or stuck uploads, I have an idea. We can manually reset (and first back up) the upload queue.

Thanks,

I "created" a new design by renaming an open document.   Closing Fusion, this appears:
Exit Error.JPG

On startup, this Job Status window:

Job Status on Restart.JPG

The Fusion Team error message appears inconsistently.

I'm game for whatever you suggest.   Were this failure generated purely locally, my first impulse would be to perform a clean re-install; if it ain't, I reckon re-installing might allow a bug to skitter off, reappear in another time, place.

Hi @mavigogun,

Thanks for your patience. Can you try the steps documented in this guide here and let me know if it clears the issue up?

Well... that definitely unsticks the queue- but not in a good way: the files become permanently unavailable in the Data Pane.   I'll try a clean reinstall.

Hi @mavigogun,

Before you do a clean uninstall and potentially wipe cache files - let's do some quick digging.

When you say the file is now unavailable - are you able to locate it in the Q folder that you backed up per my last set of instructions? This Q folder is the upload queue where the dataset is stored. Also in W.Login is the F folder which is the offline queue. Are the .f3d files located there?

Let me know if you need further help locating those.

Tha

Ahhh.... it was too late- I'd already started the process.   However, the issue has re-appeared- see this thread:

This happened to me today. Tried to access a design from my laptop, and got the "File Unavailable At the moment" message. Could not open any version of the file. I had a feeling the issue was related to a simulation I left running on my home PC, but since I didn't have access to the PC at the time, there wasn't anything I could do about it.

I really needed this file at the moment, so this teaches me to never rely on on the cloud.

Luckily I had uploaded the file to Shapeways the day before, so I was able to download it from their website. Otherwise, this issue would have cost me in both time and money.

Happened with me today. No idea why but the fix was to go to exactly THAT machine and to reopen and reclose the design. Happily, that was my other home PC. if that theoretically happens in the Office PC you lose design till you come to that PC in person.....

And yes, there is some chance that there was Offline Render in the background when I was saving the design initially. But no warning etc..

I am getting this error when I am putting tools into my camtools library. only problem here is if they don't refresh, it appears not to save them when I shut down and restart. suddenly all the tools I've put in the day before are gone. I have a lot of specialty tools that I must get in here in order to use the program. This is a bug that must be fixed ASAP
