Vertical toolbar

Hi,

I read the post forum best practices but I am confused whether I should ask this here or elsewhere. I have searched and have not found an answer. I apologize in advance if I should ask this elsewhere.

Is it possible to make the toolbar vertical ?

Vertical real estate on my screen is precious and the toolbar obscures a significant area of the part. I can move it around but I can't figure out how to switch it from horizontal to vertical ?

I'm used to nx so finding my way around. I can figure out most things but hitting a few bumps, like importing point clouds from spreadsheets or txt files. The training videos are very good.

Hi @Anonymous,

welcome to Fusion 360 Community Forum and thanks for posting!

I am not aware of a way to make the toolbar vertical but it seems like a good idea for our Fusion 360 Idea Station. I'd like you to post it there and see how many votes it gathers.

If that helps, you can change the layout of the user interface by moving the toolbars and dialog boxes around and docking them (see: How to dock/undock toolbars and dialog boxes in Fusion 360).

Thank you very much for your reply.

Docking won't help the problem but if the toolbar can't be made vertical I'll just have to work with it.

I have to say I have not been a fan of autodesk products for a long time but so far fusion is pretty good. It's like someone gave your development team copies of NX and solidworks and told them to make a superset of those. It's fairly intuitive, the workflows are logical and the anticipation is more help than hinderance. So far I'm finding it generally easier to transition to than other packages I've played with.

May I ask, if I have another question and can't find an answer in the tutorials, forum search etc, where should I ask it ?

Thank you for your patience.
