Using Move function on Text-on-a-Path Sketch Objects in a Fully Constrained Sketch

I am self-taught, trying to figure out this program to work with 3d design students, so there may be a very obvious solution to this, but I've combed the forums and tutorial videos and what is happening to me just doesn't line up with what happens in their interfaces.

Basically, in sketch 22 in the attached video I made an arc, made a circular pattern from it, and then used text on a path to get the zodiac signs to appear radially.  However, both in edit sketch and outside of edit sketch, I cannot move these sketch components.  I've done this multiple times with other objects in other sketches in the design successfully so I know it can be done and I'm not trying to make something happen in an unconventional order.  I've even fully redone this text sketch twice.  I select all the components, just one component: doesn't make a difference.  I'm attaching a video for you to see: it seems to be a very simple operation, and every step appears correct except... nothing happens.

I have noticed after recording my quick video that there is a little red lock icon that says my sketch is "fully constrained": I am curious if this is what is keeping my sketch from being able to move- I've now read this icon is a "good" thing, but frankly there is no clear explanation on any forum if these constraints would prevent the movement I am looking for in this case or how to undo this phenomenon.  When looking at the sketch, I cannot for the life of me find any constraints to remove!  I have  gone into edit sketch and clicked on show constraints and none appear.  I saw a forum suggest you can right click and select "unground" the sketch, but that option appears nowhere in the right click menu.  Are constraints inherent to circular patterns?  Is this the true issue, and if so, does anyone know how to get rid of the constraints so I can move the sketch components?

No file or video.

Sketch Pattern Constraint should be near the centre point of the pattern.

Component Pattern has a timeline icon for editing.

You say sketch pattern, and then moving Components, a little confusing for those who can’t see the video.

Might help.....

I can't quite visualize this from your description.  It would be helpful to share the design as well as the video (a link is fine).  But, in general, if the sketch is fully constrained, then not being able to move is the expected behavior.  We can help more if we can see the design itself.  Thanks

Hi, I'm sorry it appears the video did not attach correctly perhaps, thanks for helping out!  This is my first time attempting to share a link, so please let me know if the share settings are incorrect for you to be able to view.

As I think I understand it from the above comment, the constrain "point(?)" is in the center of the sketch?  I did find something I was able to select, but wasn't responding to my attempts to delete it.

Ok I will look into these suggestions: I am sorry, not sure what happened to the video.  Here is a link to the file that I got from the share options if that is more helpful:

Hopefully that is correct for you to be able to view.

I don’t have access to files for some time yet, and the viewer does not show sketches.

Ok, I am attempting to upload a link to a screencast: I had to teach myself to use this tool, and I've been waiting for hours and hours for the listing to change from Unlisted to public for anyone since bot the .mp4 and the youtube link don't appear to be working in this forum.  I've been trying to edit the initial post to paste this link in, but it keeps saying it's not valid because it's not public.  I'm unfortunately just spinning wheels waiting for the screencast to process status so I can make it public, but the link is here: https://autode.sk/3ELpbQe

I really hope you guys are able to see this link: if it is not working immediately, perhaps it will be ready once it processes?

Thanks for sharing the design.  It looks to me like, somehow, the curve along which this text was created has been lost.  If you have any recollection how that might have happened, we'd like to know, because that should never happen.

To fix it, it looks to me like you will need to add back in a circle along which you can place the text, then edit the text, and pick the circle.  Once it has geometry, you can again move it.  See the screencast:

Ok- now I understand why this happened: I thought leaving the curves would mess with extrusions so I got rid of them. Thank you: I will keep them in from now on.

I'm pretty sure that is a bug.  You should at least get a warning when deleting a path from Text on a Path.

Just for future reference, converting the curve to "construction" will make sure that that curve does not participate in profiles

I created bug FUS-118499 for this issue.  Thanks for reporting it!
