Hello!

Recently I started using Fusion for some robotics on my Macbook Pro M2,

initially, I thought that my Mac was just slow in fusion and there were some driver issues because,

using the view cube to rotate the camera and using my trackpad(two-finger swiping) were both very laggy (10-15 fps)

but after using the pan tool/orbit tool i realized that it was not my computer's fault, because when using these tools the editor would easily run at the max frame rate (120 fps).

This is when I realized that only these two actions cause the editor to lag.

I don't know what the issue is or if it's my settings or because I am running it on a Mac.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reporting, @dheeshik3H37G !

I'm also running on a Macbook Pro M2, here's the FPS status on my end. I'm changing the Minimum framerate during navigation (FPS) into 0 to make sure there's nothing being missed during the navigation.
Orbit with ViewCube: 35Hz

Orbit with Free Orbit command: 43Hz

The FPS with view cube orbit is lower than with Free Orbit, but not the same gap as what you have encountered in your side.

Would you please share with us your dataset to see if this is related with specific design file? And have you changed any other settings (both Mac and Fusion preference) in your side?

Thanks for your support!

@dheeshik3H37G can you please confirm your canvas graphics options for me?

If you check Fusion 360's application preferences under Graphics > Display, is the option for "High-resolution canvas graphics on high DPI displays" checked?

Next, on the Canvas within the Navigation Bar (bottom-center), can you check Display Settings (monitor icon second from right) > Effects > Anti-Aliasing - is this checked or unchecked? Does unchecking it improve your experience?

I have reset all of my settings and the "High-resolution canvas graphics on high DPI displays" is checked.

The "Anti-Aliasing" setting does make the orbit tool slightly faster, but using the mouse and view cube vs. using the orbit tool and pan tool still have a significant performance gap.

I've attached a screen recording, I was only able to record at 60 fps so the difference is not nearly as clear as it is in real life, but I think it is still noticeable on recording.

Thank you for sharing the video, @dheeshik3H37G !

It is obvious to see the FPS gap between view cube and orbit tool from your video.Would you please share your design with us for reproducing and investigation? Many thanks!

Have you figured out a solution?

lmao this seems to happen to me too!

Did u find any solutions?

The key point is : you can have smooth experience when using the orbit or pan tool, which shows that you have such performance, yet you can't expect middle button to have same smoothness!

I have found a solution. Using an addon from this github page
https://github.com/mertrois/Native-Trackpad/releases/tag/0.16 . It
sometimes breaks when fusion receives an update and takes some
messing around to get it working again.
