User parameters no longer available in leader note:.

After recent updates user parameters are no longer available in leader notes. This feature is important to my workflow and was available in the past and is now gone.  User parameters  can still be accessed in text boxes and custom tables but gone from leader notes. Model parameters are available in leader notes, text boxes and custom tables.

Is this a bug or part of a planned obsolescence?

Adding User Parameters to Leader Notes works as expected on my Fusion installation which is the latest.

thanks John, Perhaps I should do a re-install of Fusion. Is there a decent tutorial you know about? is there a possibility of me losing my clients data?

John, are you sure you're referring to User parameters and not Model parameters?  Compare screen shot 1 and 2. note the dialog boxes are different. Where you can add USER parameter data, the dialog box shows a design  option and source option. In the leader note dialog box there is no option for Source or for design. only model parameters.

Thank,

Alan

If you look at my video you will clearly see I am using a User Parameter.  I created another video just to make sure you understand I can use both User and Model parameters in a leader note.

This is a more serious issue and I think it needs to be escalated. I created a new part and related drawing and the feature works. When I open a part created on 3/25/2024 and create a new drawing it does not work. This feature has apparently changed and  is not backward compatible.

I again do not see any issues with placing User and Model Parameters, even from older models, in Leader Note Text.  The file I am using is even older than the one you used.  How about you attach one of your models that does not work for you and I can have a look see.  All in need is the model, I will create the drawing.

If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Here is a simple part the only parameters I have available in a drawing is the circle diameter that I created within a sketch.

I appreciate your help.

I tired a variety of things to get your User Parameter to show up in a Leader but could not get it to work.  I recreated your model and it works just fine.  I have attached my reconstructed model, see what you get when you try and add both the User and Model Parameter to a leader note.  I am wondering if it has to do with your installation?

Your file worked fine, I had access to both parameters in the drawing made from it.  My take away. is that part files you or I make with the current build will make drawings with accessible user parameters in a leader note. Parts that I made even as late as last week don't. Something at my end is not the same.

ill drop my system and Fusion information in file drop below.  Im not sure what to do at this point.
