update and lost project

Hello all, I am not holding out much hope on this but if anything, can send the fusion team on a bug chase.
I worked all afternoon on a project - house elevation from svg plans and when I was about to assign colour to walls fusion prompted me first to update the software. I then created a project folder and proceeded to save the project there after which I hit the update/restart link.
when fusion came back, my new project folder was there but no sign of the project file whatsoever.
Now, I am pretty sure I had saved the project itself but entertaining the idea that a neuron failed and I didn“t. I believe fusion would still have a recovery file or would have prompted me to save the project before restarting.
Any chance this recovery file is anywhere? I am just trying to avoid the pain of rebuilding the house as it were....

thanks for any clue on this!

I am using Windows, if you are also, take a look at this path and see if you find the file you need.  The names are a bit cryptic but the first of the name should be enough.  Find the file with a F3D extension, copy it to another folder and open it in Fusion.  The red arrow in the path is your Windows username.

Thanks John,

I am on a Mac but could follow your path and logic to track any and all backups. The thing had completely vanished.

I am putting this down as a bug where a project that was saved for the first time just before a restart+update does not get saved/backed up. Or at least this would be my steps to reproduce report .

I ended up rebuilding the thing after 1 hour of investigating my hard drives dark corners.

Thanks for the prompt help though!
