Unusual error with Standard Components while placing fasteners

Hello

I encountered unusual error while placing fasteners for the first time. Program says I don't have access to Standard Components which is clearly not true, as I am administrator of all projects and components I am using and every person from my university also using fusion to projects does not have issue like this one. We work in separate workspaces and do not share projects.

Other issue message points out is that Standard compontents could have been archived which also is impossible to do even as an admin as far as I know.

I cannot put any compontents from fasteners menu and I am looking for solutions other than provided by bot which were to check privilages (all are in place) and check if standard components was not removed or achived (it hasn't been)

full message:

Error: You don't have access to the Standard Components project anymore. You were either removed from the project, or the project has been archived.

Hi @kacprrr1

A couple questions -

  1. When you look at the data panel, do you see the 'standard components' library listed there?
  2. If you do, try and navigate into the folders to any of the fasteners directly. Are you able to insert any of those files into a new document?
  3. If neither of those things helps, can you collect logs and share them here?

Cheers,

Karina

Hi Karina Harper and thanks for a reply

Yes, standard components is visible in data panel but appears to be empty. I didn't think that could be the issue, because it is also empty at my friend's data panel who could use any components as he liked to via fasteners menu. No error or anything like that.

I don't see a way to access those components directly as folder Standard Components is empty. similarly is assets folder.

Maybe this will help, but when I add fasteners they initially load as shown on image 2 so files must be accessible for Fusion. They fail as soon as I click "OK" or "create and continue" and just give the error from previous message 😞

I attached log, hope it helps.

Thanks @kacprrr1 ,

I'm looking into this a little further and asking some folks internally. A couple questions in the meantime -

  1. Is this a new hub?
  2. Was any of the data transferred from one hub to another?
  3. If you go to the admin tab in Fusion Team, then go to "Projects" then search for "standard components", it will show who "created" the Standard Components project. Does it look correct?

Thanks @karina.harper for your help, I really apreciate effort you put into this topic

No, this Hub was created in august 2021 when I created my account and I haven't been in any other hub than "xyz" since. No data has ever been transfered between hubs in this account and between other accounts.

Also I am already admin of this (my personal) hub but to my surprise I am not an admin of Admin Project and Assets projects and instead I am only editor. Is this how it's supposed to be? I created a new project folder which I am an admin and problem from the topic still occurs.
Your question about hub made me wonder if creating a new hub would solve this issue and to my surprise I cannot create or join any - shared or personal. I tried following these instructions How to create/signup for a Fusion Team Hub and window I see looks much different from one in this instructions as you can see on screenshot. I suppose this might be an issue with my license to Fusion, but I will check this after writing this reply.

Answering to your question - yes- everything looks exactly the same and I am creator of Standard Components folder and it is active. To my surprise Created on date shows apr 8, 2025 (kwi 8 is in Polish to avoid confusion) - and I don't know if it should.

Thanks for a reply

That is odd. Is it possible that you are using two emails to log in? If you are not the admin, who is? Is that an account you have access to?

Edit: if the owner of the admin project is 'A360', then yes that is expected. For the Assets project ownership, what does it say the owner is?

Also, you don't need to sign up for a Team Hub, as you already have one. You can only own one Hub per account.

Hi @karina.harper

For the Assets project ownership, what does it say the owner is?

I am the owner but also only an editor, when I try to grant myself admin access to Assets project it reverts it back to editor the second I close window, so I guess that it is supposed be this way.

Also I just updated fusion to newest possible version, still no luck in solving the issue.

I am starting to think this might not have a solution. Since it's just an academic account and a license used just for learning I do not need this as badly as a normal user who would have paid for a license, so I am problably closing this "investigation". Fusion is a great tool but not critical for my course. I will probably just abandon this account as soon as my license expires and create a new one if I'll ever need one.

If I ever find a solution, I will share it here, but for now I would really like to thank you for your help and time. I really appreciate how much you tried to help.
