Uninstall cleaner tool won't open

I originally ran into a problem where I was unable to export drawings as PDFs. I'd click the OK button, but no file would be written. After searching the forums, it seemed like the solution was a clean install. I downloaded the cleaner tool from the support page, but after unzipping, it won't open. I don't get the "Fusion 360 Cleaner can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" error - it's just a generic error that says "The application Fusion 360 Cleaner can't be opened" and I am not given any option to "open anyway" in system preferences. I'm on a mac running OSX 10.15.7. Any ideas?

Hi @isaacpollak ,

Follow Below steps

  1. Download "Automatic Uninstall cleaner tool"
  2. Keep it on the desktop
  3. Make sure to remove spaces (for example rename it to "Fusion_360_Cleaner.app")
  4. Open Terminal and enter below line.
    sudo chmod -R 755 /Users/<YOUR USERNAME>/Desktop/Fusion_360_Cleaner.app

  5. Make sure to change your username in the above line.
  6. Hit enter.
  7. Enter your password.
  8. Hit enter.
  9. Now Try to open Fusion_360_Cleaner.app

Let me know if this works

When tried to rename the cleaner to "Fusion_360-Cleaner.app", the .app extension disappears after I hit 'enter'. Then in terminal, when I enter the command you suggested, I get a response saying "No such file or directory".

Hi @dsouzasujay ,

Thanks for all of your help. I really appreciate it. I followed the instructions of your screencast, but I received the same "Fusion_360_Cleaner is damaged and cannot be opened" error as I have before. I'm at a bit of a loss. Is the problem something with my machine? Some kind of compatibility issue?
