Unable to Select Face For Thread

Making some T Nuts and I want to put a 6 mm thread right through the middle of them, in the center of that square. I can select the face of that square until such time as I select the thread tool, then I can't. Driving me nuts.

do you want to create a threaded hole in this face?  If so, use the Hole command.  Thread will just apply threads to a cylindrical face (interior or exterior).

Awesome thanks Jeff. I did think that this was a possibility but was expecting an error message, if so. Is the hole the major diameter of the thread ? Tap drill size ?? Cheers.

The way to use Hole to get threaded holes is to set the type to "tapped":

Then, in the lower area are all the attributes that specify the thread spec - choose by thread type, size, designation, etc:

Then, the diameter will be set by the thread chosen by those settings.  You won't have to set the diameter yourself.
