Unable to Register for Fusion 360 Hobbyist

When attempting to get a hobbyist license for Fusion 360 I get stuck at the "Complete your fusion 360 for personal use download" web page. I fill in all the information but nothing happens when I click the "Next" button. I've seen several forum posts with somewhat similar issues but none of those solutions have worked for me. Every solution for new users leads to this page and I can't get past it.

Things I've Tried:

  • Different browser (FireFox, Chrome, and Edge)
  • Logging out and logging back in
  • Clearing cache/cookies
  • Clicking "Next" with incomplete info (tells me to complete the info, but doesn't do anything after I do)
  • Using completely different info

I'm also having the same problem unable to register for a new license. I find it reticules that this hasn't been addressed by the web devs or at the very least gotten a response to this thread.

I am having the same issue so I emailed their support desk. They told me they have a known website issue and are currently working to fix it. They asked me to try renewing again on Monday as it should be fixed

I have the same problem.  Chrome is reporting that a page has a cross-origin error (missing header).  This is a website glitch.

They know about it it is only some people that have this problem one person's problem was their antivirus doing it.

Hi all,

We are rapidly working on fixing the web page. I will send an update once it is fully functioning again. Apologies for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, if you need to Sign Up or Renew can you send me an email to james.youmatz@autodesk.com including the email address associated with your Autodesk Account? I will manually apply the personal use license.

I was having the same issues where I could not click "Next" after entering my personal information.

I had cleared my cache, history, & cookies. Tried different computers, installed new browsers. No luck.

After reading @daniel_lyall 's post I also attempted:

  • Turning off antivirus: No luck
  • Turning off antivirus & firewall:
    • It actually advanced to the next screen: "Download and install Fusion 360". Some progress.
    • Though after clicking the download button I get the error: "Something went wrong when creating your hobbyist license."
  • Turning off antivirus & firewall, and clearing browsing history (again):
    • Everything worked.

It seems a bit "Windows 95" to ask users to remove all protections for some task to work. But I guess "it is what it is".

It just worked for me.  Not sure why, but it did.  Hope you all have it working now as well.

Apologies, forgot to update this thread. The issue should now be resolved [roughly a couple hours ago it was fixed] and the Personal license can be signed up for successfully now. Please let me know if you run into any issues.

I am in the same situation. Did the same as icarve. Downloaded, reinstalled, logged in; still told my subscription is expired and all is read only. Very annoying.

Take a look at this web article.  The article talks about the issue for all Autodesk applications, including Fusion 360.  I hope if you follow it, your issue will be solved.

Sadly, clearing loginstate didn't help me.

Hi, thank you for posting, however it did not work for me either. Same result when logging in.

I am getting this same result on both my computers, so I am not sure it is a local issue. It has also been close to 24 hrs since I went an filled in that form to get the hobbyist license so I have definitively waited the specified 30 mins.

I had similar issues last time I had to renew, and I believe I was given a new download link by someone in support. This time I haven't found any way of contacting support as all attempts to explain the issue just directs me to the same self help articles I had already read and tried.

I have no idea how, but it's ~7 hours later and I finally got a hobbyist link to work. For some reason scrolling to the bottom of https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/pricing worked on the umpteenth try. No idea if cache-clearing helped or not, or what finally got through to it. NoScript was full-disabled for that tab almost every attempt so I'm pretty sure that wasn't it. *shrug* Will have to see if it sticks.

I previously downloaded the Personal use version of Fusion 360. Up until this summer, it never reminded me that my license will expire, whereas now it says it will expire in 16 days.

I just updated it too the latest version. I thought that the version for personal and hobby use was perpetual or was that changed?

The Fusion 360 Hobby license does not exist anymore, it is called a Personal license.  Fusion 360 Personal license must be renewed every year.  MAKE SURE you do not try and renew it until it has totally expired, you will have issues if you do not.  Here is the website to allow you to renew it when the time comes.  The website covers the process for both Startup and Personal so read carefully.

I have read the forums about the "Unable to Register for Fusion 360 Hobbyist" and I am somehow suffering from having my phone number mistaken as incorrect, I've already tried different formats to be able to have it recognized , such as +639xxxxxxxxx, 9xxxxxxxxx, and 09xxxxxxxxx, but it won't just work. By the way, I'm a New Member therefore it's more of signing up for the product as a hobbyist.263739030_2099672403538452_404321766978089059_n.png

Hello,

I tried doing the instructions based on the link you sent, however it just goes in a loop, unless I log into the US site. Perhaps that s/b made clear for international, in my case Canadian, customers.

One more thing. Since this is a new download, do you have to uninstall the previous version first, or will running the new installer overwrite the expired version of Fusion 360.
