Unable to orbit, pan, zoom, or see plane when starting new sketch or in general

I am new to fusion 360 and have used Solidworks for years. When I first downloaded fusion, it seemed to work fine because I was able to start a sketch and make a basic object. I didn't save the project and closed fusion. When I started fusion again I wasn't able to orbit by using the button or with the cube on the right top corner. I noticed when starting a sketch, the planes are also not visible even though it says to select a plane. If I do blindly select a plane, I can't see the sketch I made (like let's say a rectangle) and can't zoom, orbit, pan, etc to see it. I tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling fusion, restoring to defaults under preferences, and making sure everything was check-marked for object visibility (in display settings). It seems like the workspace is stuck in the default position. Please help as my Solidworks subscription expired and I'd like to give fusion another go; thanks!

Your system is working correctly, the red and green axis with grid is normal for editing sketches.

The origin planes or other planes are hidden for clarity after selecting one.

Add sketch item, before Stop Sketch.

To find the sketch and or folders, down arrow on the component, and then down arrow the folders as they appear.

Might help….

I understand planes don't appear after selecting one, however, my issue is that they don't appear in the first place. I can randomly the screen and it selects a plane, I can draw on that plane but I can't see anything I'm doing. Even if I  select the sketch from the drop-down menu, it does not appear. Again I can't orbit, pan or zoom. When I try inserting an image, it says to select a plane, and same issue. It's like the middle workspace does not work
