Unable to open recovery menu?

I just spent about 4 hours modelling, forgot to save, turned computer off. My settings seem ok, I already had autosave time at the lowest I can and yet I just cant seem to open it .

for some reason the icon is just grayed out and wont let me click.

I then proceeded to check if my setting were correct and autosaving,

but it still looks like it should be auto saving?

I'm using the "Free - for qualified hobbyist users" plan not shure if that has anything to do with it but it still doesn't make sense as the things that need a higher level of subscription have a blue asterisk next to them so I'm really not shure,

Anybody got any ideas or can try help me?

Hi,

The reason the recovery dialog is not available is you have (0) recovery documents. A recovery document may not be created if you are running a command. Edit Sketch is a command, for example. Any time you are editing a sketch a recovery file is not created.

There is no difference between paid/free use for this behavior.

It helps to understand this:

  • The recovery save is a recovery, not autosave. It is not intended to be the way you save files in Fusion 360.
  • The best way to capture your work is to use the Save button.
  • It creates a saved copy of your design in the cloud where it's accessible by any device you are logged into.
  • Also, when creating a new saved version you get a chance to label your changes for referral later.

Bottom line, stop thinking of recovery save as autosave. Save your designs as often as you like. Take advantage of the power of the cloud and historical versions of your saved designs.

Good luck!
