Unable to Find Files (Lesson 3 Beginner Tutorial)

Anonymous
Not applicable

I recently downloaded Fusion 360. I finally sat down to begin learning, and started with the online tutorials. I got to the save/open/close tutorial (lesson 3) on the beginner's tutorial. Everything was going smoothly until it was time to upload the file. I can't find it. I have searched through every nook and cranny in my computer's storage and I can't find a single Fusion 360 folder with the file I saved. If this is simply because it is on the cloud, how do I access the cloud folders instead of my computer's? I have been trying to solve this for hours and no tutorials are helpful. Please help ASAP.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear that!  Can you please download the dataset file in this tutorial page and unzip before you upload in the data panel?  If I missed something about the issue, please let me know and I'm happy to help!

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks.

Thank you so much. I think the offhand way it was referred to in during the tutorial made me feel like it was unimportant. Nothing I saw mentioned it or the fact that I would need to create my own folder. (also props for super fast response)

This dataset is referred to again in Lesson 7, minute 0:56. The narrator instructs to upload the file "Import.IGS" from the Lesson 3 dataset. The Lesson 3 dataset only includes the file "Open Close Save".  What gives? Where can I find "Import.IGS"?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for reporting this!

Sorry to hear that.  Can you please dowload the dataset from this link - located in the Lesson 7 page.  There is the IGES file named as "Import-FPC011020.IGS" in the zip file.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thanks.

I have been having similar issues. I tried to dl the file from the Lesson 7 page, as well as the link you provided. When I click on Lesson 7 page, it opens the file in a browser page, but does not give me an option to download. When I click the link you provided above, a zipped import file downloads, but opens to code in TextEdit.

Hi @greghaggard,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the community!

I uploaded the IGES file (Import-FPC011020.IGS) in this link.  Can you please try to access there and download it?

Then upload the file in the data panel and see if this can be opened in Fusion?

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks.

I'm having the same issue. This is on OSX using Chrome browser. Even with the file you just linked to, When I try and upload it just hangs and does nothing and there's no option to cancel.

I am happy for you as you have solved the problem. And maybe we will get some responses from you about the lesson and tutorial for beginners. I am so tired of preparing my college tasks and reading https://gradesfixer.com/free-essay-examples/global-warming/ this site, I just wanna learn something new. So, I want to find out about something, not about I can read from free essay examples about global warming, that is why I am checking this site. My friend advised me)

I'm delighted for you because you found the solution. And perhaps you will respond to the lesson and beginner's guide, giving us some feedback. I'm seeking for fresh business ideas to launch my new venture, and I found a website with many suggestions over https://www.fedregsadvisor.com/business/5219/will-cannabis-cultivation-become-the-face-of-future-bus... here. You can also visit over there if you also want to know will cannabis cultivation become the face of future businesses.
