unable to extrude

It is very frustrating when things that you have been doing multiple times and suddenly don't work.  I don't know how many times I've extruded different parts.  But all of a sudden I can't get the area between to two line to select o I can extrude them.

Hide all.

Show the sketch you wish to Extrude....

It appears the blue shaded sketch is behind a component.

Slow down, Long left click - to select the profile from the Select Other Menu.

Might help....

The design is in the screencast.  I'm trying to select between the two blue line below the top triangle.  When I move the mouse around it selects the triangle or everything between the double outside lines or it momentarily selects the ares between the two blue lines.  But I can't seem to stop the mouse movement while it is selected.

Found my problem some how there was already an extrude in the history.  So I deleted the extrude and now I'm able to select between the two blue lines.

This is the project. I only had the dimensions for the roof the sides and the bottom and the material thickness.  None of the angles were known.  Also I knew that the project was 12 inches high and 12 inches wide.

What is a long left click or a slow left click.  Can't seem to find any information on these.

PS I've been working with computer since before the mouse was even in existence and never heard these terms.

Select Other.

Click and hold the left mouse button down, after a short delay, the articles under the mouse cursor position are listed in a menu, closest to the top is at the top of the menu, slide the mouse into the menu, the individual items will highlight in the window, as you move in the Menu, select the correct one.

Hold mouse on red cross position, the midplane is in front of the two body faces and the origin plane is behind them.
