Unable to edit features on a curved surface.

Im attempting to add features to a curved surface and its being a bit of a nightmare. In order to create the feature circled I had to create a sketch, project it onto another sketch and use project to surface, then goto the surface tab and use the patch tool. Then I thickened it to create the feature.

Im now unable to add any more features to it. Everything I try fails. The emboss tool doesnt work.

My aim is to turn that feature into a little door (non functional).

I have attached my f3d file.

Hi,

position the sketch so that it is only projected onto the upper body.
Clean up your sketches urgently!

thankyou very much for your extremely helpful reply. Im very new to this and am still struggling.

I have created some more geometry on the same sketch and attempted to emboss that and it just fails every time as seen in this gif. Saying - Cannot create emboss feature. Adjust sketch profiles, faces, emboss depth, effect, or alignment options.

I realise its not fully constrained... but that shouldnt matter for this should it? (im just learning how to constrain so finding this a bit difficult).

Further example of the issue im having (which im sure is entirely my own fault)......

If I follow the same process i can create the circular window feature.... but when I try to create the cross section within the window it fails
