Unable to delete asset with the following error:   "A version of this design has been referenced by drawings, other designs, or manufacturing-related files and cannot be deleted.".  However, the design is no longer used in any other document and where used is blank.

Hi @NorwoodSamL,

You cannot delete a document when one of the older versions is used as a reference document.

Neither of these designs will show in the latest version.

Deleting an document is going to fail in Fusion. You have to start at the top of the data and work your way down.

  • Drawings are always on top. They refer to everything. Delete first.
  • Assemblies are next. They refer to other designs if anything.
  • Individual designs should be deleted last. Nothing at this point will remain that refers to them.

Thank you. I figured it out.
The issues is with the prior versions of the document as the component is no longer used in the current version it does not show up as "in use". I could not find a way to delete specified prior versions. However, a "Save As" only saves the current version so I used Save As and then delete the original. This allowed me to delete the unused documents.
Fusion 360 know that there is a link since it will not allow a delete. It would be helpful if the delete error message also displayed which prior version the components was used in.
