Unable to create a new project

I created a hobbyist account on June 26th and still cannot create any more projects than the first one I made. Are the hobbyist licenses limited to one?

I'm having the same problem, even after I delete a project.

What is the maximum number of projects supposed to be for the free hobbyist account?

Hi,
There is no limit to project creation whatsovever. If you are in Team environment, and if you are identified as a project contributor (PC) as opposed to a Team member or team admin, then you cannot create projects. In that case, need to check with admin to grant you team member rights. What does your base url say, so we may check its edition and status?

Hi Kristina,

I am having the same problem.

I am a longstanding user but have not been active for a while. I have renewed my hobbyist subscription, updated Windows 10, re-installed Fusion 360 and "cleared cache data" - all of which are things that are recommended either by the Fusion360 Knowledgebase or the forums.

I have now run out of ideas, although I am guessing that the issue is something to do with the cloud service rather than software on my PC. 😞

Regards,

Malcolm

Hi Karina,

(Apologies for the auto-correction on your name in my last post!)

The problem appears to have resolved itself (unlesss you intervened. Maybe there si some latency on the Autodesk cloud services and it took a few hours to resolve all the authentication issues....

Malcolm

Hi @ebben83

The new fix here is to actually transition to a Team hub. Let me know if that works for you!

Cheers,

Karina

Hi Karina,

Can I just check my understanding of the changes to Fusion360 licensing/subscriptions in the light of your most recent post in this thread please?

I had understood from the reading that I had done following and email that I received from  Shannon McGarry recently that a licence for Fusion 360 for personal use - offering limited functionality for non-commercial, personal use only at no charge - was the logical move for me when my hobbyist subscription runs out.

However, I had understood that this would not provide any facilities for collaborative working with other hobbyists. Am I wrong? Will transtitioning to a TeamHub allow me to work collaboratively with other "Hobbyists"?

Regards,

Malcolm

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for the reply. I think this article should shed some light on the limitations of the hobbyist license. You will be able to use Fusion Team as normal for yourself, but you cannot do certain sharing operations. Have a look at the table in that article, that should make it clear.

Cheers,

Karina

I have the same problem. I have a Personal License, and when I go to create a new project through the web interface, I get this error:

Hi there! I followed the directions to enroll, but that didn't fix my issue of somehow having a project limit. Any further guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello @karina.harper,

I'm having the same problems as others here have mentioned. I have an older account (Personal) and after being offline for awhile, got reactivated today after I signed up for a hobbyist account (mind you, Fusion 360 still says "Active plan: Fusion 360, Personal" under Help -> About). When I try to create a new project, I get an error saying I've reached a supposed limited -- as I understand it from the link you posted earlier in the thread, there should be no limits to the number of projects I create.

You had mentioned that "the new fix here is to actually transition to a Team hub. I don't need that functionality (I don't have a team) and from the looks of it (30-day trial offer), it seems that Team hub is a paid option -- I don't want that either.

Is there a way to get my account fixed so I can create projects again?

Thanks!

Hi @brunokc

It sounds to me like you are running into the personal use limit. There is a limit of 10 active documents for personal users - you will need to mark a different document inactive in order to create a new one. I could be wrong - can you screenshot the error message you're getting?

Cheers,

Karina
