unable to clean install

F360 mysteriously crashed during the night and is  asking for login on launch. Every time I enter login information it then crashes. Found the following support article  and downloaded the cleaner app for MacOS;

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-t...

I have 11.2.3 and each time I try to run the cleaner app get the following dialog (attached screenshot).

Note  that that is not the same as the warning that this app is from an unidentified developer which can be circumnavigated by clicking in OSX security settings.

So am unable to run the app. What should I do?

I have admin rights.

Also  tried using the "Unarchiver" utility mentioned in the support article. In which case get a message that the cleaner application  is Damaged  and should be moved to Trash!!

Hi,

1. download CLEAN UNINSTALL again

2. Do a manual clean uninstall according to instructions.*

Thanks @g-andresen . The manual uninstall for OSX is a pretty miserable experience. Have done it a couple of times  before the app for uninstalling existed. Will wait and  see a bit if someone knows how to make the uninstall app work correctly.

(Currently the situation is a bit Kafkaesque. "Sometimes F360 may stop working. In which case we have an Uninstall application you can download to Uninstall it, before reinstalling it again. The Uninstall app is sometimes difficult to get to work, and sometimes you may not get it to work at all. In which case you must manually uninstall everything (including the Uninstall App!!!!) yourself. Here is a long and tedious list of steps to follow and, if you make a single mistake, it may result in Total Failure. Good Luck. 😄 )

I have the same issue and haven't been able to figure it out. I tried a lot of different things, and the manual clean uninstall process doesn't work as I think a lot of the file locations on Big Sur is different (I wasn't able to find the files mentioned in the folders/paths specified).

From the research I did, this is a common issue with other apps on Big Sur.

This happens on my Mac Pro with Big Sur 11.2.3

On my MacBook Pro with Catalina 10.15.7 it says the application can't be opened. The page says to extract the .zip file with the unarchiver tool, but when you download the tool, it isn't zipped like it says it is. I think the page/automatic clean uninstall tool needs to be updated.

@fosterkbettin The real solution  to the rather complicated  help  page is to bundle the Uninstaller in the Installer so that if Installation detects a pre-existing application  it offers the relevant options to uninstall  / backup. Given that F360 - marvellous as it is - is a large and complicated app  and so will crash from time to time and occasionally with unfortunate consequences, that would not seem to be a luxury.

Persistent attempts at launching the F360 application and I got  lucky and was  able to login without it crashing.  Let's hope someone comes back  on this thread with a solution on how to  Uninstall  in Big Sur without resorting to a 100% manual approach.
