Types of text that cannot be extruded?

Hi and thanks for your help.

I designed a phone stand with some text on the face against which the phone will rest.

For a start I used the default Arial font and I could cut in -1mm without a problem. But when I changed the font to Now Black, it could not be extruded with the following error:

Extrude 2

1 Reference failures. Cannot complete extrusion.

It seems that certain fonts cannot be used for text extrusions. Is it only a certain type /groups of fonts that cannot be used? I ended up using Arial Black.

Hi,

There are fonts that cause problems when extruding, especially when the taper option is used.
It also plays a role whether they are OTF or TTF fonts.
In some cases OTF fonts are preferable, but unfortunately not always.
This can be remedied by selecting the text and converting it to paths via right-click > Explode.
