Trying to make new project

I am trying to start a new project on the Fusion 360 Education license I just purchased, but every time I put a name and hit enter it says " operation failed", How do I fix this problem

First of all, you do not "purchase" a Fusion 360 educational license.  You either qualify for it as a student or educator or you have some other type of license.

There are two ways to create a Project.  The most direct is to open the data panel and click on New Project.  Is this the one failing for you?

Another way is to enter the Web Database and use the Create Project icon there.  You get to this by doing two clicks.  The first in from the Fusion 360 data panel.

Once in the Web Database, you click on the big "F", as indicated, and then use the Create Project icon.
