So I am try to get this tool path to work for this Siemens controller. Every time I post it, it keeps trying to go past center and I cant get it to do 4th axis movements. I cant tell if I set the tool paths up wrong or if its something in the post that is not working. Below is the part I am trying to make with all the posts I have tried including the post I edited to try and get it to work.

Only thing I can see is that you have it set to Milling in the setup, code is different if set to Mill/Turn, could this be the issue ??

From what I can tell there isn't an option to select as a "mill turn" operation. Even from the example that fusion provides uses mill operations for their mill turn posts. Unless I am setting it up wrong I can't think of anything else.

I just switched it to a mill turn set up and it is still wanting to move past the center for the outside profile instead of rotating the part and having positive x axis movement.

Hello @josh.prevatte

i think you need to "force" the turn mill post to use XZC Mode.

This can be done this way:

Add a Manual NC command by clicking on the ribbon drop down list in the Setup area.

a dialog box will open then enter the following settings:

Then move this operation before your contouring operation.

Now when processing instead of generating a code using the transmit command, and coordinate below the axis, it will generate only XC move.

Note that previously with the transmit command, if supported by the machine, it will in fact rotate the part. And interpolating internally using X and C moves, so it will not have moved in X- on a turn mill machine.

Have a nice day.

Cheers
