Trouble wrapping sewn stitching along an irregular curved surface

Hello, pretty new to Fusion 360.

I've seen some guides for simple stitching. I was trying to make a more complex design. Have tried to ways so far:

1. Create a sketch below the curved surface, and trying to project it. This results in a lot of distortion.

2. Create a "stitch "body from sketch, aligning to path on curved surface, and creating pattern. This results in unevenness of the body.

I'm a bit lost on how to accomplish this haha. Any ideas?stitch-1.pngstitch-2.png

Is this task possible you guys think?

Or is it better to use some other program to model the threads on the handle and then import the threads back into fusion360?

I’m thinking this would require some sort of real wrap function, which from searching around, it seems Fusion 360 does have a wrap feature. I could be wrong however, I just started with F360.

If it’s better to do the threads in a different program and import into Fusion, does anyone have some suggestion which program would have a good workflow?

Thank you!

Can you share the file, cause those two picture have contradictory information, the parallel sketched stitches in first picture, are in space in the second picture.

Hi Dave,

Sorry, in first photo I was just trying to show the sketch I was trying to project, I'm not sure I saved the actual projection since it looked so bad. I didn't hide the threaded body in that photo.   The second photo shows a body version that doesn't really curve into the form.

I attached a F3D file, hopefully it works. I haven't much experience with file/folder management/exporting etc. Please let me know if this file works for you or if I made some mistake exporting.

Thank you!
