Trouble radiusing a complex edge

I am a new user (student really) of Fusion 360 and I am drawing an object which I will print on my 3D printer.  The file, New Conduit v5, is the current condition of my work.  As you see in the file the curved portion of the lower edge radiuses readily but any time the two left edges are included (or tried singly) the program presents this error message:  "The fillet/chamfer encountered a non-manifold edge or vertex.
This is where two separate volumes share an edge or vertex. Look for this condition on your model, and try editing the volumes so that they overlap or have a gap between them."

My request is for an explanation of what I need to do to my drawing to cause the radiusing operation to work for each of the three edges of the lower body.

I recognize that the cause may be the unwanted pin-like protrusion from the joint of the two parts that refuse to participate.  I have a problem with that:  When I try to delete this unwanted garbage my drawing reverts to a previous unrecognizable stage and I don't know what to do but struggle through the reconstruction of the lost progress.  I'm reluctant to do that.

Can you verify for me that deleting that unwanted garbage is the cause of the error message and eliminating it will solve the error?  If so, I'll suffer through the reconstruction.  If that is not the problem please instruct me on fixing it!

Thanks much!...JHW...

PS...I see nowhere that invites me to send a copy of the above named file so I assume that you, being intimate with AUTODESK have access to my work in the cloud.  If not please fire back to me and we'll arrange for me to send it.

Gunther, thanks for your reply.  I finally remembered the proper way to prepare the drawing to accept what I was trying to do and the job is done.

Meantime, as with many new users of Fusion I have other problems and am trying to find solutions for them  If I fail to find ready solutions I'll be back with my troubles.

Thanks for your attention to my problem!...Joe W...
