Trouble inserting a jpg file using the Canvas command

Not applicable

I'm just now learning Fusion 360, so please forgive my ignorance.

I'm trying to insert a jpg picture to use in creating a 3D model...should be pretty basic CAD function, right?

Heck no.

The Canvas command only allows 'image' files on my computer.  Grrr.

Who wrote this unworkable software...or perhaps I just don't have the secret handshake?

While watching YouTube videos, everyone else is able to perform this feat of magic.

What gives Autocad?  I'm confused and pretty dang frustrated.

1. Yep

2. A jpg file is an image file.  Attach your jpg file here.

3. See #1.  Are you using AutoCAD (a completely different software) or are you using Fusion 360?

Maybe you meant the company named Autodesk, rather than the Autodesk product named AutoCAD?

Attach you *.jpg file here.

Canvas absolutely works with JPEG files (.jpg) or PNG files.  You have to tell Fusion what plane you want the canvas to go on.  Workflow is:  select the image file, pick a plane.
