I am trying to enter my threading tool into the new library. I have an 11ERA60 insert into a SER0500H11 tool holder. I selected "turning threading" when I added a new tool. The insert and holder look like the figures below.
When I look up the meaning of the insert identification, I get the following:
11: Edge Length 6.35 mm
E: External
R: Right hand
A: Thread Pitch 0.5 - 1.5 mm
60: V profile 60°
I tried both options for the insert shape and neither fit the profile of the insert. It should be a small triangle coming out the edge of the holder. Assuming the figure on the right isn't correct, my best guess would be ISO Triangular Full Profile. Is this the correct choice?
There is no parameter for Tolerance and Cross section in the 11ERA60 identification. What should I use? In the geometry section I can measure the Thickness, Overall length and width, but are the measurements for the insert or holder. The default value for the overall length seem rather large for an insert. The thread pitch for this insert is a range from 0.5mm to 1.5 mm. I could not figure out how to enter a range in this field. Can you enter a range here? If so, how?
First, I ask for help in loading this tool into the library. Secondly, take a look to see if Autodesk can improve this area to better cater to the tools used for turning. It would be nice to have the same conversion as in the turning general tool, where you insert the ANSI number and Fusion 360 does the rest.
