I'm trying to design a stamp (3d printed) for the bottom of a piece of pottery that my dad is making several of. It needs to press in text in a ring around the outside, which will then be filled with glaze to make it appear prominently. I want the letters to be tapered in so that it can go in and out smoothly without adhering too much to the clay and pulling some out, but when I try to apply any taper to the text extrusion it has a lot of trouble with a few particular letters.
I've tried tweaking settings back and forth and it just turns different letters on and off. At one point I got all of them except M to show up.
Why is it so finnicky? Is there a better way to do this, or do I have to just keep playing with it until it works?
I've attached an example version. I was hoping for 2mm depth and at least 10-15deg taper, but at this point anything that will work I'll take.
