Target lineage is reserved and can only be modified by the reserving user

I have a part that I have been working on for a month. I now longer can do anything with the file other than save it under a new name. I cannot delete it. I cannot rename it and it I change and save it it blocks the upload queue for changes to any other file.

I can clear the queue and work on other things.

Is there a way to change the status of the part. There is not reserved indication when I open the part. It just wont let me save it.

Hi @larry.d.mcpherson,

Can you please try opening a design and saving it again where you're seeing the problem, and then collect and share the log files? That could help us with diagnosis. Thanks.

Here is a link to how to exact log files.

Hi @larry.d.mcpherson,

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues.   If it is possible for you to follow the instructions Nilesh provided, it would help us diagnose the issue.   If you are still seeing this problem however, the following steps may help resolve it for you.  It would also be helpful if you could let us know how many users have access to the file and have been working on it.

  1. If the file sits idle for 75 minutes, the system is designed to release the reservation if another user accesses the file.  If this is not happening move to the next steps.
  2. Ask the user who the file is reserved by to open and close the file, this should also release the reservation.
  3. If the file is still reserved, there is a text command that is used to release stuck reservations
    • Open the text command window in Fusion by clicking on the File dropdown > View > Show Text Commands.

    • In the text command window in Fusion, make sure the radio button on the bottom right is set to "txt" option.

    • Use this command in the command line: Collaboration.unreserveAsSystem

Please let me know if these steps resolved the issue for you.

Thanks,

This worked. Problem was caused by a collaboration with a friend when I had a personal license and he was using a trial license. He decided to purchase a full license and during the upgrade he had locked the file without knowing it. Was able to see it when I upgraded my license.
