Hi,

I would like help with this "Target Body" error.  I normally just correct errored features but this particular feature's error is persistent. See attached f3z file.

Thank You,

Toni

Move the timeline to before the first error and hit compute all and step the timeline back to the end of the timeline.

The error comes from Rafix 16 Multi Corner, it is going to need ADSK support to check it I can make the error happen quite easily by doing the above then updateing Rafix 16 Multi Corner the error comes back.

Thank you @daniel_lyall ,

I am testing it now. I am very curious about how you found out the connection between Rafix 16 Multi Corner and this error? 🤔

I have seen this before and know to look at all of what goes into the model and what looks wrong to me for an assembly, Most times I stumble into it I have done someone else model today it was an action in a linked component that made the model disappear a delete of 2 faces deleted the entire model its image in the data tree was empty that was the clue to what was wrong moving the timeline back before the delete sorted the component then updating it in the assembly sorted it why It did it pass.

@daniel_lyall ,

I can't get achieve your result yet 😲....What do you mean by "updateing" in your description?

Best, Toni

@tookemtoni

Youtube still needs to create the higher quality videos so give it a few minutes.

@Phil.E It looks like the update mechanism for the derived sketches isn't working.

I've experienced this in my own designs as well.

@TrippyLighting

Thank you for your awesome video explainer.  I have tested your workflow to fix the bug but it only works sometimes.  So it turns out I can’t use my design with this bug. What did you do when this occurred in your designs?

I saved and closed all documents and then re-opened the main assembly. Then I got the "get latest" button and was able to update.

Re: Target Body Error because update mechanism of derived sketches not working

Hi @TrippyLighting I just need some advice....

I still can't fix the error when applied to my workflow.  I would rather spend the time making a "bug resistant" version.  😳  This next version can also be simplified. Global parameters and derived sketches aren't as important as I planned in my original design intent.

1.  Should I give up on this design and make a new one without derived sketches and global parameters?

2. I would like to use derived sketches and parameters in the future. Is there a way to find the status of this bug fix?

Here is a speed up video of my workflow and failed attempt to fix error:

Best, Toni
