Sweep a solid into the face of another body

Hi,

I wondered if someone could point me in the right direction.  I have used the sweep command to create the legs of this component.  If I select the leg sweeps to be new body then  the no sharp shell fails suggesting i change the thickness, which i don't want to do.

If i change the leg sweeps to be new body, then i can use the no sharp shell but it disregards the legs that go inside of the main body, as these bodies are not selected in the shell.  I can use the rounded shell but this cuts into the main body though the inside of the leg which i also don't want.

I did try to combine the bodies together into a component and then try to round shell but i don't this is working either - i struggled and didn't really work.  What i ideally want to do is have the sweep intersect the main body but i have no managed to get this to work either as the sweep doesn't follow the curvature of the body, or at least i think this is my issue with this method.  Could anyone share some pointers?

Many thanks

Hi,

Please share the file and show what you want to achieve with an illustrated screenshot.

I'm trying to achieve a smooth inside shell of the main body with no shell to the mounting tabs.

I have managed to come to a solution that will work for me.  I deleted the faces at where the leg / tab interfaces with the inside of the main lofted body, and then patched it.  Which is good enough for what I'm trying to do.

Hi,

Unfortunately, I can't see clearly from your description and the screenshots what this is about.
If you don't want the legs to penetrate the interior, you can use the split body tool to cut the protrusions.
To do this, select the legs as the target and the inner surface of the second body as the tool.
