SVG imported logo imposible to extrude

Hi,

I have an issue with SVG import to be used as a sketch to be extruded.

I import an SVG file of a logo and need to select which areas of the logo (a letter or the background) to be extruded. Sadly, I don't have this opportunity since the major part of the logo doesn't seems to be recognized as closed shapes...

Here is what I get when I try to extrude geometries from my logo. Only the black parts of the logo are available while all the green shapes remains unusable...

Hope someone can help me with this

You probably have gaps because SVG is not a good format for bringing curves into a CAD program. I did some tips in this thread on finding gaps. You'll need to unfix geometry to move endpoints in Fusion now, changed from when I made my post.

Hi,

1. Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d locally  > attach it to the next post.

2. Watch this screencast

Here is the file.

I do have multiple breaks in the sketch but that would require ages to clean this up.

Do you see another way to make this logo clean ?

Hi,

I closed the small gaps in V-Carve automatically and the gap in e (Nature) manually.

Looks good, thanks !
Is there any way to do such a cleaning in Fusion or directly in Illustrator ?

I will use this reworked logo as a part and put it on top of the part I need to deal with.

Hi,

A good base in the original application is always necessary.
But even then, incalculable events can occur during ex-import.
For the correction in Fusion, the divide & conquer method is always suitable for gaps.

In # 5 I referred to a screencast.
