Super simple sketch can't be extruded, yet is continuous ...

Hello all,

I have searched these forums and tried everything. I also sent it to a more experienced friend and he can find nothing wrong.

I produced a sketch using the spline too for part of the curve, then mirror to make both halves. Then I used offset to make it roughly 3mm wide and finally the line tool.

You can double click the line and it appears continuos, yet doesn't fill in / shade the inside. I believe it is all on the same plane. I have tried dividing it up to see if parts will fill and that doesn't help.

I wish to 3d print it, so I wanted to extrude it a few mm.

If I repeat the process I get the same result. If I use an ellipsis to do the curve it works, but I don't get the curve I need.

Can someone take a look and advise what I have done wrong please?

Many thankscurve.PNG

Hi @rtGH8RW,

Thanks for posting. Can you try to edit the sketch, then check the "show profile" option and try again extrude?

A schoolboy error, I didn't know that checkbox existed!

My problem is solved, thank you all.
