Stuck on Account Activation loop (student access)

I created an account, got verified for Autodesk education access, downloaded Fusion and tried running the app. Every time I launch the software and log in through browser as prompted, the application displays the following page titled " Account Activation".
No emails as such ever arrived, and don't ask me to check my junk folder because I've done so multiple times. Chat support made me uninstall and reinstall Fusion but the issue persists. It seems like some users had the same issue and got it rectified through the back end last year.
