Strange Behaviour when Cutting Using a Tool - Bug?

Thank you in advance for the help all you experts out there. I am still learning the finer points of Fusion 360.
I have attached an example design, simplified as much as possible for ease of explanation.
I start with this shape (module), and using the x_units and y_units resize it as needed.
However the cuts that I pattern in the bottom result is this awkward geometry at the corners, which I want to get rid of.
So I create a body that matches the shape that I would like the corners to have (bottom shape).
And create the negative of that to use as a cutting tool (feet trimmer).
Then I use it to trim the corners of the module which results in a nice corner.
I thought that I was set with this solution. I can not just change the x_units and y_units and the resizing happens and the four corners of the module end up nicely trimmed.
Now for the issues, of which there are two. I first noticed that at some sizes the corners did not get trimmed the same. The asymmetry because the model is not square makes sense to me, but sometimes there is a corner that is not at all the same. The upper right corner in the next image.
So I went through values for x and y from 1,1 to 5,5. Things got even stranger. Some sizes had two odd corners, upper right and lower left below.
On my first run through the sizes I had the following sizes with bad corners. The odd corners are listed with the upper left as ul, etc.
1,3 ul, lr 2,1 ur 2,2 ur 3,1 ur, ll 3,3 ur 4,2 ur 4,3 ur 5,2 ur
Then I went back and randomly checked the ones that were bad and a few of the good ones. Some of them changed. For example 3,2 which had been good was ur this time. 4,1 change from good to ur, ll. 4,3 went from bad to good.
And the second issue, periodically after I changed the sizes the bottom shape would have become visible and I had to hide it.
That was when I realized the the bottom shape body no longer had the name that I gave it, but was now body23. Then I shrunk the parameters dialog so that I could see the workspace while changing parameters. Sometimes if I was changing both parameters I would see an error after changing the first one, that went away when I changed the second one. (The default automatic update was checked on the parameters dialog.)
I just spent about 5 minutes entering random values for x and y and finally reproduced the error.
This is the first time I actually had the workspace in view and the parameter dialog still open to capture it all.
And now the bottom shape body has changed from body23 to body 24.
I just changed y units to 1 without doing anything else and now it is body25, no error, and body25 visible.
In conclusion:
Why does the error occur, and only randomly?
Why are the corners sometimes bad/different?
Why do the corners get different results at times for the same x,y units?
At first I thought it was the previous size before I changed the size, but I have not been able to reproduce the results that way.
